(Español) Flor de Silos
One of the few wines in Europe which comes from pre-phylloxera vines. It is the highest expression of old vine Tempranillo variety from sandy soils. The vines are over 100 years old although the exact date is not known. The land is poor and rough, hidden away where the vines are not disturbed. There is little fruit grown. The wine is a dark cherry red with garnet hues. An extraordinary expression of Tempranillo with mineral notes, elegant and mature with complex aromas of ripe fruits (plums), liquorice, balsamic tones, spices (nutmeg, cardamom) incense, wet earth (truffle, mushroom) and liquorice.
On the palate, it is deeply concentrated due to the few bunches produced on the vine. Its fleshy, powerful, well balanced alive with mature tannins. Silky, long lingering and persistent with a magnificent acidity which gives it life. Fruit notes with mineral hints coming together to form a grand finesse.
